Indian Railway Tracks Getting Improved Cleanliness

It's a great pleasure for commuters that railway tracks look a little nice in recent days comparatively as it had been a couple of years ago. IR administration has taken more than One Step Towards Cleanliness (EK KADAM SWACHCHATA KI AUR) and made the tracks look clean a little.

Although the Government has aimed to achieve an Open-Defecation Free (ODF) India by 2 October 2019, the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, taking agenda of constructing 12 Crore toilets in rural India, executing cleanliness mission Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, yet it could not be maintained in railways because passengers are not to be refrained from going toilet in running train.

The main obstacle, which is to be overcome, is light plastic bag, food packets and pouches which are being dropped regularly on the track by the commuters, passengers and retailers.

Everybody knows about how light plastic bags (Low Density Polly-Ethilene) affect harmfully the environment. Especially LDPE Plastic bags are particularly noticeable components of the litter stream due to their thin film size, non-biodegradable property and take a long time to be decomposed completely. Plastic bags thrown by commuters in the lines between platforms get deposited in the drains, cause to blockage of flowing water in gutter finally which causes pollution in station premises.

Go ahead Indian Railway !!!

Jai Swachh Bharat Abhiyan !!!

Jai Hind !!!
